For Perry, the decision seems less about leaving Hollywood behind completely and more about reclaiming something his extraordinary career has often demanded: time.

Perry revealed that he plans to relocate to Puerto Rico next year as he begins a new stage of his life.
The filmmaker said he is "pulling back a whole lot" from work, spending more time with his son, Aman, a major reason for the decision.
Perry shares Aman with his former partner Gelila Bekele, whom he dated for more than a decade.
It's a significant declaration from someone whose career has been defined by an almost extraordinary level of output.
Perry hasn't simply acted in or directed films and television programmes. He built an entertainment operation around them, eventually establishing Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and becoming one of the relatively small number of filmmakers whose name itself functions as a major entertainment brand.
