Taylor Frankie Paul has seemingly stepped away from Huluâs The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after an Instagram post alleging prolonged bullying and mistreatment by cast members, sources report. Production status and whether she filmed season six remain unclear.
Just weeks after news that she would return to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, reality star and creator Taylor Frankie Paul has apparently pulled back from the hit show, The Hollywood Reporter reports. In a lengthy Instagram post shared on Monday, Paul said she did not âdesire to move forward like thisâ and accused much of the cast of piling on, laughing about her children and contributing to months of what she called bullying. The showâs sixth season is in active production, and it is unknown whether Paul had already filmed for the upcoming episodes.
Paul says she wonât continue amid alleged cast backlash
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Frankie Paul posted on Instagram that she was withdrawing from the series because she did not want to continue under the current conditions. In the post she wrote, âI donât desire to move forward like this,â and accused âAlmost the entire cast plus someâ of âgoing at me ⊠laughing about my kids.â Paul added that the treatment had reached âthe point of bullying for months now.â She said some cast members knew what she had been through and that she had previously been willing to step aside to reduce stress on others.
Paul alleges cast encouraged pay demands but she refused
The Hollywood Reporter relays Paulâs claim that fellow cast members told her to press for higher pay, saying her âvoice was the only one that could make it happen and then they would workâ from her demands. Paul wrote that she is âgrateful I never followed through with their requests or demandsâ and kept her pay the same âout of fairness and integrity.â She also defended her dealings with crew, saying production members checked on her throughout and that she had treated production and crew with respect.
Unclear whether Paul filmed for season six as production continues
Recent departures and a prior production pause have dogged the series
The report places Paulâs apparent exit in the context of wider upheaval around the series. Fellow cast member Mikayla Matthews said last week she would be leaving the show and has filmed for season six; it is unclear whether her exit will take effect mid-season or for season seven. Production was previously paused after an alleged domestic incident involving Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, and ABC removed Paulâs season of The Bachelorette following resurfaced footage from 2023. Other cast members, including Layla Taylor and Mayci Neeley, have indicated they plan to finish season six but are uncertain about future participation. The Hollywood Reporter says it reached out to reps for Hulu and Paul but had not received responses by the time of publication.
